Jeff's
House.
A private villa anchored on a long garden elevation, with a covered hardwood terrace wrapping the rear.
Jeff's House sits low on its plot, organised around a long garden elevation that catches the early light. The brief was a residence that reads substantial without overwhelming the planting — answered with horizontal lines, deep eaves, and a restrained palette of warm masonry and hardwood.
Modern Lao Homes carried the project through architecture, structure, and finish. The rear terrace was treated as part of the building rather than an addition: the same module of post and rail repeats inside and out, so the family room reads continuous with the garden rather than walled off from it.
Living spaces are kept open and daylit. Detailing is precise without being austere. The house photographs best at dawn — brick at its warmest, terrace still in shadow.
